According to research women are, on average, half as likely as men to start a business!  But then again, according to research, women are more likely to make a success of starting up a business than men.

Are you a mompreneur or a kitchen table tycoon? In America they call them Mompreneurs, in the UK they are frequently referred to as Kitchen Table Tycoons – but whatever you call them it is a growing business sector.  Research shows that many women choose to start businesses in the baby food and children’s clothing sectors.

The Chancellor, Gordon Brown, has commented that ‘if the UK could achieve the same levels of female entrepreneurship as the US, Britain would gain 750,000 new businesses’.
